About Me

Hello and welcome! I’m Riley, a chef, news junkie, relapsing Diet Coke addict, and lover of all things food. I’m the one doing the cooking, writing, and photography here at My Daily Morsel.

I recently graduated from The International Culinary Center and, in addition to job hunting, I am eating my way through New York City!

I watch way too much television. Some of my favorite shows include The Walking Dead, The Mindy Project, and Sherlock. And we can’t forget some of the oldies but goodies – Will & Grace, Gilmore Girls, and The O.C. in particular.

Speaking of TV, I love the news. Being twenty-three years old, I probably shouldn’t be able to name every anchor and stand-in anchor on CNN, but so is my life. I have a major crush on Jake Tapper, I want to be Wolf Blitzer’s best friend, I envy Erin Burnett’s hair, and I want to be Anderson Copper’s personal chef.

This is Lila, the love of my life and taste tester extraordinaire. Her hobbies include short walks, giving eskimo kisses, barking at the wind, and forgetting to put her tongue back in her mouth.

My favorite movie is Primal Fear. My second favorite is a tie between Mamma Mia and The Silence of the Lambs. Deal with that on your own time.

I hate eggplant, wind chimes, and mornings.

If I wasn’t going to cook for a living, I think I would be a storm chaser. Or a professional bed tester.

I sing in the shower. A lot. I basically turn into Adele in there, but with more hazardous dance moves.

I love a man who knows the difference between “your” and “you’re.” That’s hot.

The goal of this blog is to provide you with tried and true recipes that are guaranteed to please you as well as your family and friends. And hopefully I can make you laugh a little along the way. I absolutely love these recipes and I hope that you enjoy each and every morsel!

Oh, Riley, I am soooo going to adopt you! Then we can chase storms and watch Mamma Mia when you’re not cooking for Anderson Cooper, but only if I can tear myself away from that pan of your Brownie Pudding!

I love your site. Not only are the recipes fantastic but they are easy to understand & easy to either print or save as pdf files for e-filing.

Hope you had a great holiday with plenty of cooking for family and friends. Love your recipes and blogs. I used to write food column for local paper and loved putting humor and food together. Great combos!! Would love for you to come visit our little town someday as a speaker and give us review of your new cookbook and maybe even a demonstration. I know our university would love it. Good luck on future endeavors, keep those delicious recipes coming.
